Job Description:
Position Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for management of trade and brand support accounting, trade payment system and data integrity, and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

Functional Responsibilities:
• Trade Accounting - accounting/reporting of trade spending; month-end trade accounting analysis and journal entries (including experience rate and cash discount entry and non-trade reclass entry) and trade spend reconciliation.
• General Ledger - obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure, book month end journal entries, accurate and timely month end close, assist with ad hoc general ledger reporting
• Systems - responsible for ensuring all interfaces are functioning between third party order-shipping-billing system, trade accounting management system (AFS) and general ledger; if not enlisting assistance from the appropriate IT resources.
• Data - responsible for verifying data integrity and reconciling between systems, if necessary. Responsible for reconciling trade spending between general ledger and AFS
• Trade Reporting - monthly/weekly reporting on agreed to internal and external measures
• Brand Support Accounting - responsible for monthly journal entry recording brand support expense and monthly reporting of actual spend vs. budget to marketing team leads.
• Bottle Taxes - accounting/reporting of bottle tax filings for various states
• Audit - assist with complying data and answering requests for year end and various audits throughout the year

Qualifications:
Selection Criteria:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Three to five years experience in related field
• MBA Preferred
• CPA Preferred
• Strong leadership skills
• Consumer products industry experience preferred.

Function Specific Knowledge and Skills
• General Accepted Accounting Principals - Knowledge of US GAAP
• Reconciliations - Ability to compare data from various sources and identify inconsistencies or variances.
• Basic Financial Analysis - The ability to analyze financial data. This includes creating spreadsheets, explaining variances, identifying issues and making appropriate recommendations.
• Process/Procedure Design - Ability to design cost effective work processes to ensure that transactions are properly authorized, recorded and reported.
• Systems - Advanced experience with the use of Microsoft Excel, experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX helpful
