Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Production Planner will report directly to the Plant Manager and be responsible for working with the Operations group to create production schedules. Production Planners determine how goods will be produced in the plant across multiple production lines. The production planner determines what materials are needed, how much of each is required and uses the demand planning tool to schedule the production at the appropriate time.
This is a great opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience to work with a Plant and Corporate leadership team focused on operational excellence and strong cost management. The successful candidate will have strong communication and computer skills, be self-motivated, data driven, have a strong desire to succeed, and be capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Job Description:

• Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity
• Develops manufacturing work orders in accordance with Material Requirement Planning (MRP) planned order requirements
• Utilize Material Replenishment Planning (MRP) system to ensure purchase order fulfillment
• Create purchase order stream
• Manage functional/delivery supplier relationship
• Partner with the Suppliers to develop and negotiate the best production and shipping schedule needed to support customer demand
• Must analyze sales and shipment data daily and react within constraints of basic inventory control
• Resolve any exceptions (over or under capacity) by changing available labor or equipment, pre-building inventory
• Provides management with clear, timely and accurate information with which to make decisions
• Acts on order releases action and exception messages from the company system
• Analyzes sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements
• Manages inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules. Completes shipping information and delivery date input during sale order reviews
• Answer termination or cancellation requests from sales
• Releases purchase orders for production material, floor stock items and all purchases to support the business unit.
• Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and department leaders on material status and production planning issues.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required
• Comply with Sunny Delight Beverage's policies and procedure


• A bachelor's degree is preferred - but, not required for the person with the right experience
• 5+ years' experience in manufacturing. Preferably food/beverage manufacturing experience
• Strong computer skills: including Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Process knowledge with an understanding of customer requirements and basic business practices
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
• Must be able to drive results and work independently and effectively in a team setting
• Excellent communication & conflict resolution skills
